Angelina Jolie's Hairstylist on Her Oscars Look: "I'm Inspired by Hairstyles Happening on the Runway"
A recent poll has voted the 1960s as the best decade for hairstyles. Popular hairstyles from the era the beehive, the bob and the Beatles-style mop, collectively made the decade's styles the most iconic of the century. And the proof of their popularity lies in the number of modern versions they have lead to. The messy ponytail, the beach hair, the finger waves and the many versions of Audrey Hepburn's beehive are all permutations of the 1960s hairstyles. The Twiggy pixie cut, too, has found its fair share of faithful fans, including Charlize Theron, Rihanna, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, Emma Watson, Jennifer Lawrence and Carrie Mulligan. The survey also polls the 1980s hairstyles (the mullet, the backcomb and the tight perm) as ones everyone would rather forget, with only one percent voting for it.
Source: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/beauty/Hairstyles-from-60s-are-centurys-most-iconic/articleshow/31787382.cms

So when he started looking into it he was intrigued, especially by the lengths ancient Egyptians went to in styling and decorating their hair, even wearing wigs. He told the audience of about 100 people that braids and bantu knots are rooted in African history.
Source: http://www.roanoke.com/arts_and_entertainment/arts/exhibit-braids-hair-and-history/article_602cd10c-a7f4-11e3-971d-0017a43b2370.html
"We went for a sleek and sensuous look," says Adam. "I started by spraying volumizer at the roots and blow drying with a large round brush to create as much lift as possible." The next step? "Then I focused on the bottom one-two inches of hair. While spinning the round brush under each section, I held the blow dryer on it for 10 seconds to really smooth the ends," he says. And lastly, Adam completes the look with a final spritz. "I finished with a little shine spray to give the hair a glossy shine and seal out the elements." So, voila!
Source: http://www.eonline.com/news/517063/angelina-jolie-s-hairstylist-on-her-oscars-look-i-m-inspired-by-hairstyles-happening-on-the-runway
